Who We Are and What We Believe

Our Mission

We exist to glorify God by reaching people for Christ and walking with them to maturity.

Our Vision

We envision a church that ensures a solid foundation where the gospel thrives in our hearts, families, and community.

Our Core Values

Our core values drive the way we live and minister as a congregation. While they do not describe everything we are striving to accomplish nor do we believe we are perfect  at them all, we are working to live out these values.

Biblical Preaching & Teaching – We believe God’s Word is our foundation for living. Therefore, we value biblical expository preaching and teaching as the basis for everything we do and are committed to exposing our lives to the whole truth of Scripture.

Corporate Prayer – We believe God’s power and rich resources are opened to his children through prayer. We value praying together as a church as a means of connecting our hearts with God and binding us to one another. Corporate prayer is a means of fulfilling God’s mission for His people.

Word-Centered Worship – We believe we encounter the living God through reverential and reflective worship. We aim to center our worship around the Scriptures and allowing them to shape our corporate singing of the Word, the preaching of the Word, our praying of the Word, and celebrating the Word through the ordinances.

Gospel Witness – We believe the gospel should be made known to all people regardless of their life situation. Therefore, we value the proclamation of the gospel by every believer wherever God has placed them, and are committed to training, equipping and mobilizing every member to share their faith.

Outward Ministry – We believe that Christ’s command go to all nations with the gospel is for every disciple. We value reaching our community, our state, our country and all of the world with the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. We are committed to systematically supporting our cooperative mission agencies and sending missionaries from First Baptist to the ends of the world.

Biblical Community – We believe biblical community is deepened through spending time with God’s people socially, in ministry and in times of personal joys and sorrows. We value experiencing authentic relationships that strengthen our common bond and witness to our common Savior.

Lay Leadership – We believe God has gifted every believer to perform the work of the ministry.  We value a strong, involved laity in all positions of leadership and are committed to developing and equipping them for all areas of ministry.

Strong Families – We believe the biblical family is the basic unit in any congregation and has been ordained by God for the nurturing of every member’s faith. We value strong families and are committed to developing programs enhancing their welfare.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe the Scripture is our authority on matters of faith and practice. We have adopted the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) as our doctrinal statement.
