Reaching People For Christ and Walking With Them To Maturity

Missions

God's love extends to all people no matter where they live. He has called us to be a Great Commission people and historically, Southern Baptist's have answered the call by praying, sending, and going. We believe in doing what we can from our small corner of the world to penetrate lostness with the good news of salvation. So we pray earnestly, we give sacrificially, we will send joyfully, and we will go gladly.

We support missions through our giving to the Cooperative Program as the cornerstone of cooperative efforts in planting and strengthening churches in every land and to every tongue. our financial support is only a part of our strategy. We are a called people, and therefore we also encourage ourselves to go on short-term mission trips internationally, nationally, and locally. In our local area, we have several ongoing missional emphasis':

Church planting - First Baptist is engaged in a multi-year effort to plant new congregations in Central Indiana. Currently we are investing in two church planting efforts: Living Faith Church meeting in downtown Indy and Good Shepherd Church meeting on the Southside of the city. We have committed our funds, resources, and energies to see the gospel proclaimed throughout our area.

Community missions - Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and other forms of community missional engagement is the biblical response of hearts transformed by the gospel. We support with our time and resources ministries through the Metro Baptist Center, Mooresville Churches in Mission, CareNet Pregnancy Centers, and our own program to feed hungry children in a local elementary school.
